coming soon: the ‘road to recovery’ resource center
WHAT IS THE ‘ROAD TO RECOVERY’ CENTER?
The Road to Recovery Resource Center is a dedicated space in the Oncology Department that provides comfortable and personal offerings like; massage, spa/facial offerings, care kits, journals, meals, snacks & beverages, online classes, information, and more. These offerings were selected by cancer patients themselves in the 2023 Wellness and Support Survey with 860 participating cancer patients nationwide.
With this project, we aim to remove the barriers to access that patients face in receiving non-medical support services in rural communities. Onsite service offerings will help to make a difficult journey a little less so. A small effort can go an incredibly long way to making a big impact.
Where is the ‘Road to Recovery’ Center?
The Road to Recovery Resource Center was one of 11 funded projects from the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute Community Partnership Program for 2023. With this amazing funding, the Road to Recovery oncology support center will become a reality at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria, OR.
How to Get Involved?
At the ‘Road to Recovery’ Center, we are dedicated to helping patients find the path to physical and mental well-being. Designed for implementation in any hospital setting, our program requires minimal effort and funds while making a maximum impact on patient experience.
